Term 4 PBL:!!!History!!!

I am struggling to keep my spirits up in this ship. The waves are crashing Against my window, i am starting to get see sick. I have only 5 cracker for the past 6 days. I am in hope for a new start.

for PBL this term we learning about history of New Zealand. so for this week we went to each class and did some activates and they were:

• Making an animation or story of one of the New Zealand disasters?
• write a letter about being on the first ride to New Zealand?
• create a slide or doc that is about World War 1!

Soccer Crow"s

This year i started winter sport i got to chose which sport so I chose to do Soccer/Football and I got chosen to be  in the B team which is the crows, i have been having a great time doing it and sports is diffidently one of my favourite hobby's. Though the year I have been getting better and better at passing and  at Soccer but i have had a few accident's, today is Thursday 15 of August 2019 it is our last game i hope we are going to win.On the first game it was cold and raining in the second half I tackled the ball of the other player and dribbled the ball as fast as i could across the field but then a player from the other team tripped me over and I flipped and then landed on my knee it was painful but in the end I keep on playing. On the 3rd or 4th game I was goalkeeper in the second half when I was goal keeper a player from the other team was dribbling the ball toward's me to shot a goal but when he kick the ball? I tried to save it but the ball hit my thumb and pushed it back. it was really painful I did cry a bit but I kept going.       

What is your favourite sport?

Lego

On Monday August 5th 2019
Rachel came to our school and bran Lego that we were going to do challenges with. there was three challenges, one was building the highest's tower out of Lego and then the second on was building a bridge that was long and stable and then the last one was building the fastest's car out of Lego. there were groups in each challenge.

Climate Change

In reading this term our focus has been looking at articles around Climate Change.

I have learned that: The great pacific garbage patch is 3 times bigger then France and has over 1.8 trillion pieces of plastic.Quartz gets used when you are making glass.The earth once had over 60% of trees all over the land but now there is only less then 30% of trees covering the land.It takes 300 million years to form coal.Rhinos get killed because of there horns which gets used to a traditional medicine.In some places people still kill animals for sport, Grizzly bears are one of the animals that get targeted, In 2017 the British, Columbia and Canada banned killing grizzly bears for ether there meat or for sport.


New words that I discovered are:
Fossil fuel: fuel that comes from a factory.
Microorganisms: They breakdown all the food that's in a compost bin.

What is something good that we can do in life to help the earth?

PBL - Term 1

This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about kindness and the big question was: How can we build community through our actions?

First, we explored some collaborative activities and discussed how we could include kindness and build a sense of community through our actions at camp. Next, we were organised into groups where we had to unpack the above question. In our groups we considered how we could spread community and kindness through our entire school community. We decided that we would offer something that was free and would make others happy.

Reflection:
For our final product our group we chose to give out cupcakes and kindness book marks and read a book to the little kids.

How did our action build a sense of community in the school? It showed other people to be kind.

I contributed by giving out the cupcakes and reading books. I was away sick during the planning and preparing stage.

I think the PBL might impact on others by choosing kind.

What I learned about working with others was it is a bit hard to communicate because we were argued about what we should do but very soon we choose what to do at the end of the day.
